How to Reach Thousands of People With Instagram Live

As of this writing, there are 500 billion active users of Instagram, which means that nearly every one of your customers is on Instagram Live. What you can do with Instagram Live is similar to what you can do with Facebook Live.

Instagram Live is perfect for promoting your business or products because it allows you to interact with your customers without paying for ads. Plus, it allows you to make money while you sleep because you get paid every time someone watches your video.

Adjust your Instagram Live settings

Open the Instagram Stories camera and switch to “Live” mode to access your Instagram Live settings. Tap the wheel icon in the top left corner to open your controls. From there, you can choose who you want to see your stories and Live, who can respond to them, where they’re automatically saved and how they can be shared.

Filter comments

If you’d rather not see inappropriate words and phrases in your comments, you can automatically hide offensive comments and manually filter out those containing specific words or phrases. We highly recommend this, especially if you’re a big brand with many engagements.

Open your Instagram settings, scroll to “Privacy,” select “Comments,” and then change “Hide offensive comments” from “Off” to “On.” To filter comments that contain specific phrases, switch “Manual Filter” from “Off” to “On”, then type in the words or phrases you want to filter, separated by commas.

How to start an Instagram Live?

Step 1: Open the Instagram app and go to the “Stories” section. Switch to the “Live” tab. You’ll be able to see how many of your followers are currently active in the Instagram app. This is a good indicator of how many people will receive an in-app notification if you post something straight to Instagram.

Step 2: Go ahead and press the “Live” button, ensuring you have a solid and stable internet connection. The listeners will have a few moments to join in before you go straight into the heart of your Instagram Live broadcast. So chat a bit, ask them questions, or tell them a few jokes until they’re all caught up.

Step 3: Once live, you can choose from several features to make your broadcast more engaging:

  • 1: Share your viewers’ questions on the screen by tapping the question mark icon.
  • 2: Use the paper airplane icon to send DM to someone about your Instagram Live.
  • 3: By tapping the faces logo, you can invite somebody to co-host your Instagram Live.
  • 4: Use filters by tapping the filter icon. Choose one before your start your live, so you can find and apply it as quickly as possible!
  • 5: Share an image or video on your broadcast screen by tapping the camera roll icon in the right corner of the screen.
  • 6: Tap “Comment” to write a comment to the live stream. You may also tap and hold a comment to pin it to the top of the stream.

Step 4: Tap “End” in the upper right corner once your Live is finished, then “End Now” to confirm.

You can then save it to your camera roll or share it with your Instagram stories for viewing over the next 24 hours by tapping the save icon in the top left corner. It’s that simple!

When your live stream is finished, you can save it to your IGTV account. You should see a new “Share with IGTV” button when you end your live broadcast. Choose a video’s cover image (or upload one from your phone).

Live shares are powerful because they convey your message in concrete and real ways. Your reader can see you using details from their own life to illustrate precisely what you are talking about. They can relate. And that links back to the first persuasion principle… which is relevance.

They put their video live and then start marketing it, only to find out that their hottest prospects and customers aren’t online at all hours of the day. Learn when your target market is most active and put your Instagram Live at those times. Here’s a little secret: take a look at your Instagram Insights. Under the “Audience” tab, you’ll find a breakdown of when your followers are most active online, by day of the week and time of day.

Tip 3: Have a clear content plan.

As you plan your life, you should be thinking about what you will say, how you’re going to say it, and how you’ll write it. You should be asking yourself questions: What’s the main point I want to get across? What’s the most important point I want to make? How am I going to explain the idea? How can I use language that’s most likely to move my reader? A clear plan will help you avoid awkward pauses and ensure that you cover all the essential points on your professional agenda.

Tip 4: Put your business goals first.

This is an excellent reminder to ensure that what you’re working towards matches your purposes. This can be as simple as a reminder to keep your goals in mind. When writing your video script, ensure the post’s content and focus will help you reach your goals.
